Homicide detectives in St. Louis are currently investigating the death of a man after an incident in St. Louis Place yesterday. Responding to a call for help at North 23rd & Palm Street at around 12:35 a.m., officers found the victim on the street, conscious yet struggling to breathe; he was promptly rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m., according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
The Medical Examiner’s Office took over to ascertain the cause of death and by the afternoon informed the Homicide Division of neck injuries and fractures sustained by the man, declaring the death a homicide. While an investigation is now in full swing, authorities have not yet released the identity of the man as they likely continue to notify next of kin and untangle the events that led to this tragic outcome.
