Three juveniles from South Florida have been taken into custody in connection to threatening messages sent to two other juveniles in Pembroke Pines. The arrests followed an investigation into texts that included lethal threats, according to the Pembroke Pines Police Department. The threats were reportedly linked to text messages related to a romantic relationship involving one of the victims and one of the suspects, as reported by Local10 News.
The hostile messages included a photo of a gun and explicit threats to kill the recipients. After receiving a direct threat, one of the victims contacted 911 and used the FortifyFL app to report the situation. While the school, Franklin Academy, where both victims are enrolled, was informed, there was no threat to the school itself. None of the suspects are students at Franklin Academy.
The Pembroke Pines Police Department emphasized the seriousness of such threats in a post on X, urging parents to educate their children about the consequences of written threats. A link to the media release was also shared in the post.
