A fatal incident occurred this morning at a Miami office building, leaving two people dead in what police are currently investigating as a possible murder-suicide. The shooting was reported around 8 a.m. at the Del Toro Insurance building located at 42 Northwest 27th Avenue, according to Local 10.
Miami police spokeswoman Officer Kiara Delva confirmed the deaths of a man and a woman who were both found with gunshot wounds, she also mentioned that Miami Fire Rescue responded but both victims had since died from their injuries, feeding into an all too familiar narrative of violence that continues to plague communities. NBC6, in a report on the same incident, noted that although information about a suspect or motive was not immediately available, footage from the scene showed the building cordoned off with crime scene tape and the presence of multiple police crime scene vehicles.
Homicide detectives are now delving into the details of the situation to determine the exact nature of the events that led to this potential murder-suicide. The identities of the deceased have yet to be released as part of the ongoing investigation. Officer Delva stated, "At this time it appears it may be a murder suicide case, however please keep in mind the investigation remains ongoing and details are subject to change,” as obtained by NBC6.
