In the wake of the disaster, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the casualties as Brett Lane, age 51, and Melissa Ann Lane, age 49, both hailing from Hinsdale and it was further reported by WGN-TV that the three injured parties involved in the crash were in good condition, hinting at a sliver of hope amidst the carnage.
