Medford residents and travelers, brace yourselves for some roadwork-related inconveniences coming your way. Starting April 29 and stretching until May 15, you'll need to navigate around closures and lane shifts as the city undertakes essential maintenance work.
The Medford Water Commission is set to repair a 12-inch butterfly valve on Springbrook Road, impacting the southbound lane between Owen Drive and Ford Drive. During this period, expect the southbound lane to be closed and to promptly shift into the northbound turn lane, with traffic control devices guiding your way, according to a city news release. The work will be carried out between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
In addition, the road will be shut down on N. Ivy Street from W. 8th Street to W. 10th Street on May 1, with no parking permitted, as city crews busy themselves with crack sealing tasks. The closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All through the day, detours will be set up to reroute traffic.
The city asks for your patience and cooperation to maintain safety within these work zones. It's best to seek alternate routes and parking as you plan your travels around these schedules. Bear in mind that these plans are subject to change, contingent on the whims of weather conditions and other unforeseen factors, as noted in the official statement.
