Similarly, several afternoon and evening ferry trips will only dock at Mare Island, with corresponding shuttles ready to transfer passengers back to Vallejo shortly after arrival. Riding the ferry regularly will cause Vallejo residents to see their daily commutes temporarily disrupted by the forces of nature.

For those who park at the Vallejo Ferry Terminal, a free shuttle service to Mare Island is available, reflecting the agency's diligence to minimize inconvenience during these low-tide events. Parking remains limited and free at Mare Island on a first-come, first-served basis, contrasting Mare Island's option with Vallejo Ferry Terminal's paid parking across the street.
