A grisly discovery was made yesterday evening in West Miami-Dade, as a woman was found fatally shot inside a residence, prompting an intensive investigation by local authorities. Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the 300 block of SW 79th Ave., following a call regarding a shooting that was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m., where they found the victim with gunshot wounds and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue later pronounced her dead at the scene, the sheriff's office stated, according to CBS News Miami.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Homicide Bureau is spearheading the ongoing investigation into the homicide and spent hours at the location late into the evening, combing through the scene for evidence speaking with neighbors and interviewing potential witnesses in hopes of determining the circumstances that escalated into the fatal shooting, detectives remained at the scene well into the night, according to CBS News Miami.
