In early March, a series of Tesla Cybertruck vehicles were targeted in a vandalism incident at the Woodland Mall, resulting in "extensive" damage to five vehicles. As reported by WZZM13, police sought the public's assistance in identifying persons of interest after security footage captured two men who may be connected to the incident, which included messages such as "Nazis always lose" spray-painted on the vehicles.
Although the two individuals in question have since been in contact with the Kentwood Police Department, no charges have been filed against them. At this point, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of other suspects, and the investigation remains active as the Kentwood Police Department continues to look into the matter, as outlined in FOX 17's recent publication.
The string of vandalism comes amidst a backdrop of dissent directed at Tesla and its founder, Elon Musk. This follows his role as a top adviser to President Donald Trump and head of the Department of Government Efficiency, which has been characterized by efforts to cut federal spending through significant workforce reductions and the termination of various federal programs, as detailed by MLive.
