In what could be described as a whimsical display of community engagement, Woodstock's public safety teams, including members of the Woodstock Police Department, Woodstock Fire Department, Woodstock Public Safety Foundation, and the City Council, stealthily deployed 10,000 Easter eggs throughout the city to the delight of early risers on Easter Sunday.

The well-orchestrated surprise, part of the "You've Been Egged" initiative, was no small feat, with the stealthy egg-drop taking place under the cover of night on Saturday, eggs were tucked away in nooks and crannies of the cityscape as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the Police Chief Jones has stated that this event, now in its third year, aims to piecemeal replicate the Easter Bunny's role in delivering springtime joy.

The initiative, according to WSB-TV, was the brainchild of Woodstock Police Chief Robert Jones, who saw this as an opportunity to create moments of togetherness for families within the Woodstock community; those fortunate enough to participate were registered residents within the city limits.

Reacting to the eggcellent Easter surprise, the police asked residents to broadcast their finds on social media, the department's official social media account calling for festivity by posting, "If you were ‘egged’ by the Woodstock Police Department last night, share your pictures and videos in the comments below so we can join in the fun," as per FOX 5 Atlanta.
