Worcester's drug trade faced a targeted strike as the local Vice Squad obtained and executed search warrants across multiple locations, resulting in the apprehension of a suspected trafficker and the seizure of a considerable stash of narcotics. According to an official post by the Worcester Police Department, the vice officers zeroed in on an apartment on Cambridge St., an apartment on Providence St., and a vehicle associated with the investigation.
The operation took a pivotal turn as officers tailed and ultimately stopped thirty-nine-year-old Ryan McCabe, the target of their investigation, after he left his residence on Cambridge St. It was around 11 a.m. when they made their move to quickly, yet carefully, detain Mr. McCabe on Dwight St. With McCabe secured, officers entered the Cambridge St. apartment, where their search unearthed a large quantity of what was suspected to be crack cocaine, along with packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution.
McCabe, now facing serious legal repercussions, has been charged with Trafficking in a Class B Substance 18-36 Grams. The full details of the Worcester Police Department's operation, as well as updates on the progression of charges against Ryan McCabe, can be found on their official Facebook page.
