A 75-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run incident in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, as a silver SUV collided with him on the 7000 block of South Western Avenue Tuesday night, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The SUV, which did not stop immediately after the crash, was later halted by Chicago police officers, with a 29-year-old woman behind the wheel taken into custody.
The woman, driving northbound, struck the man who, suffering from severe trauma, was quickly transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was later pronounced dead. While charges were pending against the incarcerated woman, her identity had yet to be disclosed to the public, as reported by CBS News Chicago.
