Apache Junction residents who rely on the local public library will have to adjust their schedules, as the Apache Junction Public Library is set to close for a couple of days next month for some necessary electrical upgrades. Specifically, the closure is scheduled for Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7, 2025, according to a brief announcement on the city's official website.
The library, which is normally shuttered on Sundays, plans to reopen on Monday, June 9, with its regular operating hours in place. During this brief hiatus, library patrons won't be left in a lurch, as the mobile library will be accessible on Friday, June 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the east parking lot of the Multigenerational Center, as per the city's notice.
While the brick-and-mortar location takes a short pause for these 'essential improvements,' the services rolling out to the community via the Mobile Library include the ability to get a new library card, return borrowed items, and check out new materials. The city expresses its gratitude to residents for their patience as they work to better serve the Apache Junction community.
For those who might prefer to dive into a book or movie from the comfort of their homes, the library's digital collections remain available around the clock. Patrons can navigate to a wealth of eBooks, audiobooks, movies, and music by visiting the library's dedicated digital collections page at ajpl.org/digital-collections.
