Last Wednesday evening, a home break-in in Lebanon became an easy case to solve after a trail of blood led police to the suspect. According to WSMV, Lebanon Police were called to a home on Park Avenue, where they found a broken back window and spotted a small amount of blood nearby.
While a crime scene technician initiated their analysis, it was the discovery of this blood trail that ended up catching the eye and leading the officers directly to a house on Victor Avenue—the escape path marked not just by droplets but an abandoned ski mask and bloodied door handle a telltale sign of guilt left outside, as reported by FOX 17. It was here the officers made contact with the 19-year-old suspect, who had a conspicuously fresh cut on his hand, and reeked of alcohol.
The suspect was quickly arrested and charged with criminal attempt, vandalism, and underage drinking, according to WKRN. His drunk state may explain—though not excuse—why he left such an obvious trail of blood behind.
