The Boston Police Department began its Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month reading series at the Bradley School in East Boston. During the event, officers read a story to first-grade students and participated in a Q&A session about their work, as per the Boston Police Department website.
The program is designed to recognize AAPI Heritage Month and strengthen connections between law enforcement and local youth. Officers also shared their cultural backgrounds with the students.
The event was supported by the Mayor’s Office of Early Childhood and the Lingzi Foundation, which focus on early childhood development and community engagement. The initiative is part of the department’s broader community outreach efforts during heritage month observances.
