A New York woman has been charged with a series of thefts in Miami Beach, allegedly preying on men she met during nights out. Brittney Scott, 28, from Brooklyn, is facing multiple felony charges, including burglary with assault or battery and grand theft, for incidents in 2023 and 2024 that involved stealing thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry and credit cards from victims she encountered in nightlife settings, WSVN reports.

In one incident, after inviting Scott back to his Miami Beach apartment, the victim claimed to have passed out and awoke to find his valuables missing, including a $14,000 Rolex. A photo he had taken with Scott and subsequent facial recognition efforts led to her identification. Another victim experienced a similar fate after a night out with Scott at the Saxony bar in South Beach on Oct. 20, 2024. He suffered a head injury and later realized his valuables, including a Rolex and credit cards, had vanished, according to NBC Miami.

Miami Police have flagged Scott as the suspect in at least three thefts. During the arrest and subsequent interview, Scott reportedly claimed she did not recall a incidents. CBS News Miami detailed one case where surveillance footage and credit card transactions at Sawgrass Mills Mall linked her to the crimes. Scott was positively identified in a photo lineup conducted on Tuesday.

Scott's arrest followed a court appearance where she was ordered to be held without bond. "The concern is, what is she slipping them?" a prosecutor raised during a court appearance, as per NBC Miami. The Judge also commented on the dangers of such situations, stating, "They choose to take somebody home who they meet in a club, we can't be everybody's parent, you've gotta be careful when you pick up somebody in a club." This warning echoes Miami Police spokesman Michael Vega's advice for the public to be vigilant about their personal safety and belongings when interacting with strangers.

Miami authorities suspect that there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. They encourage anyone with additional information to contact the City of Miami Police Department to assist with the ongoing investigation and potential additional charges. Jail records revealed that Scott is on probation for other grand theft cases and had accepted a plea deal just days before these latest incidents.
