
A 16-year-old male juvenile has been charged in connection with two armed robberies that shook residents in December last year. According to a statement from the Chicago Police Department, the young offender is facing two felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm.
The youth was apprehended on Thursday by the Citywide Robbery Task Force on the 1100 block of S. Hamilton Ave., police of Chicago confirmed. His involvement was determined through an investigation into the incidents, the first of which involved a 27-year-old man being robbed at gunpoint on the 1200 block of W. Fulton Market. The second occurrence, happening a mere 40 minutes later, involved a similar crime perpetrated against a 35-year-old man in the 1900 block of W. Division St. Both alarming events took place within the 12th District, unsettling the local community during the holiday season.
Following his arrest, the young individual was placed into custody and charged accordingly. As these cases involve a juvenile, specifics about the accused’s identity and further details of the arrest remain undisclosed at this time.
