Following a routine traffic stop by the Tennessee Highway Patrol in Chattanooga, these individuals were nabbed. The suspects had a selection of burglary tools and clothing that matched descriptions from the recent crime wave, linking them to the Witherspoon subdivision burglary and other similar incidents.
Initially believed to be a simple traffic infraction, the stop eventually unraveled a broader criminal endeavor after counterfeit Peruvian identification was presented to the Trooper. With a search revealing stolen Rolex watches sourced from a Missouri home burglary and additional suspected stolen jewelry, the depth of the suspects' activities came into light. The arrestees have been identified as Genaro Arturo Arenas Jara, Nicholas Maximiliano Martinez Hidalgo, and Valentino Amaro Bouffanias, according to a social media post from the Brentwood Police Department. The trio is also connected to previous burglary charges in California dating back to 2023.
