Chicago residents might need to hold off on breaking out the shorts and sandals for another week as the local weather forecast calls for a chillier than hoped-for weekend. According to the National Weather Service, while today's temperatures could see a high near 56, the rest of the weekend shouldn't be expected to warm up significantly. "A slight chance of showers before 9am, then a slight chance of showers after 4pm," is also on today's agenda, with mostly cloudy skies dictating the weather pattern and a persisting north northeast wind.
Expect cloudy and seasonably mild conditions today with some scattered showers moving in late in the day. Conditions will be cooler over the weekend with a few shower chances passing through. #ILwx #INwx pic.twitter.com/B8bQiQPTU5

The "rest of the day temperatures will stay in the low 50s under mostly cloudy skies," as reported by FOX 32 Chicago. They've also advised Chicagoans to watch out for some fog near the lake and in the far-northern viewing area this morning. While the chance for rain appears minimal, it can't be ruled entirely out, ensuring that a dreary haze might remain a steadfast companion throughout the day.
As for the nighttime, the National Weather Service predicts mostly cloudy conditions with a low around 44 degrees and a continued likelihood of showers. Saturday and Sunday won't promise much improvement, with a robust north northeast wind and a mere 20 to 50 percent chance of precipitation, along with temperatures struggling to climb past the low 50s.
The weekend forecast doesn't seem to brighten much, with mostly cloudy skies predicted to persist and "highs will struggle to get much past 50" says FOX 32 Chicago. They expect Sunday could bring slightly warmer conditions, but only "we will be lucky to get into the mid or upper 50s." Hope could be on the horizon for the start of the next workweek, with temperatures predicted to gradually increase and a turnout to more favorable weather by mid-week, promising a more agreeable array of mostly sunny days.
