Cincinnati is putting its best food forward this summer, and it's all for a good cause. The Hoxworth Blood Center, in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati, has once again joined hands with some of the city's most beloved culinary icons for the annual Cincinnati Favorites Blood Drive Tour. Hoxworth's announcement in a statement obtained by UC News lists an appetizing lineup of stops that include Skyline Chili, Graeter's Ice Cream, Busken Bakery, LaRosa’s, The BonBonerie, Aglamesis Bros., and Montgomery Inn as participants in this famed tradition.
Not only is the blood drive an opportunity to give back to the community, but donors also get to indulge in sweet and savory perks, everyone who rolls up their sleeves for the cause receives a collectible Cincinnati Favorites cup and the monthly Hoxworth donor promotion, which in June, will be gift cards; they don't stop there, because participants also get a special treat from each of the blood drive sponsors, ensuring that the act of donating is accompanied by immediate and delightful gratification.
The Cincinnati Favorites Blood Drive Tour has become a staple event in the city, signaling more than just a congregation of food lovers—it's a beacon of communal altruism. As donors contribute to a vital need, they simultaneously get a taste of Cincinnati's rich culinary scene, an experience intertwined with the kindness that reflects the city's spirit.
This collaborative effort not only reinvigorates the local blood supply but also reinforces the bond among residents, who come together under the shared ethos of support and nourishment; it stands as an embodiment of the city's commitment to helping those in need while taking pride in its local institutions, a genuine celebration of what makes Cincinnati unique—in both its compassion for its community and its cherished local flavors.
