In a bid to ease the burden on motorists ahead of Memorial Day weekend, Circle K has announced a significant cut in fuel prices for a limited time on Thursday. The convenience store chain will offer a 40-cent reduction on each gallon of gas during the promotion hours. For a brief window between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., the discounted rate will be available at participating Circle K locations nationwide, as WGNTV reports.

Circle K's Inner Circle Rewards members can revel in the savings a bit longer, capitalizing on an extended Fuel Day starting at 7 a.m. and concluding at 3 p.m., at selected outlets. The offer is poised to assist those getting an early jump on their Memorial Day travel plans. This gesture of goodwill isn't solely about savings; Circle K is committing 10% of all fuel profits from the event to Children of Fallen Patriots, a non-profit dedicated to providing educational scholarships to children who have lost a parent in military service. Louise Warner, Executive Vice President of North American Operations at Circle K, emphasized the dual purpose of the Fuel Day in a statement obtained by WGNTV, "It is also our honor to use this occasion for the second straight year to partner with the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation and support their important work to provide educational opportunities for children with parents who gave all in service to this country."

Warner's statement, reiterated by FOX5 San Diego, "As people hit the road for the long weekend and kick off the summer season, we are pleased to bring all of our valued customers, both existing and new, some great savings at the pump." “It is also our honor to use this occasion for the second straight year to partner with the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation and support their important work to provide educational opportunities for children with parents who gave all in service to this country,” she added.
