Clarksville authorities are in the midst of a death investigation after a body was located in a wooded area on the corner of Daniel Street and Laurent Lane. The discovery was made yesterday morning at approximately 11:13 a.m. following a welfare check initiated by a concerned individual, as reported by WSMV.

When the Clarksville Police Department officers, accompanied by emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene they found the individual already dead, this according to FOX 17. The investigation has been handed over to the Special Operations Homicide Unit who are actively trying to unravel what led to the individual's death, and to this point, have not disclosed any information on the victim or potential causes death.

In an effort to aid their investigation, the police are encouraging anyone who may have information or possible video footage that could shed light on this incident to step forward, as per a statement obtained by WKRN.
