
In a recent update, the Colma Police Department reported the arrest of two individuals implicated in a shoplifting incident that took place at a local Home Depot. The theft occurred on Friday, according to a social media post from the Colma Police Department.
At roughly 9:32 PM, authorities were dispatched to the Home Depot on Colma Boulevard following reports of a theft in progress involving two male suspects. The Colma officers arrived just as the first suspect exited the store with store goods concealed in his clothing. Subsequently, the suspect was detained without incident. The recovered merchandise was valued at approximately $375.55. "During a search incident to arrest, the male was found in possession of a controlled substance", per the Colma Police Department.
The second suspect also attempted to leave the premises but fled upon spotting the officers. This prompted a brief chase, which ended with the suspect's detention. He was found to have stolen merchandise worth $129.11.
Taylor Hallstrom, 26, of Oakley, faces charges for shoplifting and possessing a controlled substance. Hallstrom was issued a citation and was released on a promise to appear in court. Berwyn Hutcherson, 28, from Fairfield, was arrested for shoplifting and resisting a peace officer. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail, as detailed in the police department's post.
