The Town of Davie, in collaboration with the Boy Scouts of America, is getting ready to host its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 26, to honor the servicemen and women who have laid down their lives for the country. The parade will commence at 10:30 a.m., starting just west of the Davie Fire Administration building and following a route ending at the Rodeo Grounds, the town announced.
The ceremony is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the Rodeo Grounds, 4201 Rodeo Way, and will include the traditional presentation of colors, folding and presentation of the United States flag and remarks by guest speakers, which are expected to include local dignitaries according to information provided by the Town of Davie.
Town of Davie governmental offices and the Pine Island Multipurpose Center will not be open on that day in observance of the holiday, while normal operations are scheduled to resume the following day, May 27 as noted in the public notice; park facilities will remain open to the public from 9 a.m. to sunset with varying closing hours for specific parks and the fitness center at Pine Island operating from early morning to evening.
