A community staple since 1985, Sprinkles Ice Cream has passed through several hands before landing with Ainsworth and his wife Cortney Berry in 2023, who broadened the shop's menu by adding sandwiches and soups last December but now facing the harsh reality of a permanent closure, this local institution is closing—though they have expressed hope in relocating, as Ainsworth eloquently stated in a news release, "While this chapter is closing, we are hopeful about the future and are actively exploring options to relocate to a new location, though no new site has been secured at this time." According to the same release, fans of the iconic shop should not expect it to return to its current spot.
