Frank Vincent Nelson, 38, was quickly arrested after trying to meet someone he thought was a minor. The Eugene Police Department said their Violent Crimes Unit stopped him as soon as he arrived in Eugene on Monday. Officers surrounded his vehicle and arrested him without any trouble, preventing the crime before it could happen.
This isn’t Nelson’s first time being involved in such crimes. He was previously arrested for a different offense, which briefly stopped his actions. However, soon after his release, he went back online and began planning a similar crime. According to the Eugene Police Department, he quickly resumed contact and tried to arrange another meeting with a minor.
However, Nelson's plans were stopped by strict surveillance and the hard work of detectives. Instead of meeting a minor, he was met by law enforcement at the location. He was arrested and taken to Lane County Jail. He now faces charges of First and Second Degree Online Sexual Corruption of a Minor, and Luring a Minor, under case number 25-06839, as reported by the Eugene Police Department.
