
This morning, a tragic incident occurred at the San Bruno station of the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) when an individual entered the trackway and was struck, leading to death. The event, reported by The Mercury News, caused the station's closure for over an hour and a half, disrupting the morning commute for hundreds.
The interruption began around 5:40 AM, and normal service resumed at approximately 7:10 AM with trains experiencing a delay of about 20 minutes, as BART spokesperson Anna Duckworth told the publication.
Additionally, during the disruption, SamTrans provided alternative bus service on route ECR between the South San Francisco and Millbrae stations, mirroring the information shared by BART Alert on social media.
There is a 20-minute delay on the SFO Line in the Antioch, Richmond, SFO and Millbrae directions due to a major medical emergency at San Bruno. Trains are not stopping at San Bruno station. SamTrans is providing bus service on bus ECR between South San Francisco and Millbrae.
