A former employee of the Hall County Fire Rescue, Trey Newton Bryson, 24, was arrested and charged with possession and production of child pornography. Following a tip received in 2022, an investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit led to the uncovering of explicit content on Bryson's electronic devices. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the examination of Bryson's devices, which was completed on May 5, found six images depicting children aged 3 to 14 in sexual acts.
Despite the investigation starting in 2022, authorities were not able to promptly gain access to the devices. When they did, evidence was also found showing that on June 18, 2022, Bryson used a social media app to inappropriately share a video of a child between 8 and 10 years old. The offender also produced three sexually explicit images of a child between the ages of 3 and 5, as reported by AccessWDUN.
According to B.J. Williams with the sheriff’s office, in a statement obtained by AccessWDUN, "The offender created these images on his own, and so that adds a different level to this investigation." It has been confirmed by county authorities that Bryson was an employee with Hall County Fire Rescue from October 13, 2019, but as of Tuesday, he is no longer employed with Hall County.
Each of the illicit materials was found on Bryson's personal cell phone. He was incarcerated into the Hall County Jail at around 1 p.m. on Monday and is currently being held without bond. Though Bryson faces serious charges for his alleged crimes, officials have stated that no additional charges are expected to follow.
