The city of Goodyear is basking in the recognition of its water services, having scooped not one but four accolades from the Arizona Water Association. The statewide honors were awarded for exemplary performance in water and wastewater management, as well as the city's unwavering commitment to safety in these high-stakes arenas, according to Goodyear's official website.
Goodyear's Water Services Department seized the Wastewater Collection System of the Year award, a significant nod to the city's services, system performance, and adherence to stringent regulatory demands. This achievement reflects the tangible results of an unseen workforce that ensures the continuance of daily life. "I couldn’t be prouder of our Water Services team," City Manager Wynette Reed conveyed in a statement. "They play a huge role in keeping our community running smoothly, and it’s great to see their hard work recognized across the state."
Alongside this commendable title, Goodyear was lauded with three AZ Water Safety Awards. This trio of trophies acknowledges the city's sterling safety record in 2024, a year marked by zero injuries, a noteworthy accomplishment for those navigating risky conditions. Regularly facing confined spaces and other hazardous environments, the crew's commitment to precaution and preparedness has certainly paid off.
"These awards are a reflection of the dedication, expertise and safety-first mindset our staff brings to work every day," Reed told the public through the city's announcement.
