Harris County Constable's Office reported, a routine traffic enforcement on Spring Cypress Road turned into a felony arrest last Tuesday. David Thompson, the driver of the stopped vehicle, was found to be a convicted felon in possession of both methamphetamine and a stolen firearm. The stop occurred near the 9700 block of Spring Cypress Road, which led to the uncovering of the illicit items. According to Constable Mark Herman's Facebook post, the loaded firearm in Thompson's possession had been reported stolen from Williamson County.
Details on the incident, released by Herman's office, indicate that Thompson was taken into custody and later charged. He faces charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Harris County Jail. His bond was set, at $11,000.00 by the 180th and the 337th District Courts. "David Thompson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm," Herman stated on the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 official social media page.
The Constable Precinct 4 uses digital avenues to keep the community informed about local crime and safety concerns. In their announcement, the office also promoted their new mobile app "C4 NOW." This app delivers live feeds on crime, arrests, and traffic accidents directly to residents within the precinct's jurisdiction, aiming to provide timely information that could impact their daily lives. This digital interface seems to align with a growing trend among law enforcement agencies to engage with their communities through technology and transparent communication.
