The Highlands Community Center is gearing up to turn up the heat this summer with the launch of its new fitness program, CAD Fitness Hip-Hop Aerobics. Starting in June, the classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, a special monthly session will take place on the first Saturday of each month from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering both private and group exercise options, according to the City of Deerfield Beach.

Striding alongside the aerobics initiative is the department's equally vibrant Ambassadors to Zero Waste program. Aimed at younger residents, children between the ages of 5 to 15 are welcomed to dive into a world of sustainability and environmental stewardship. This hands-on, four-week course is designed to engage kids on the topics of waste minimization and mindful consumption, all while keeping the experience fun and interactive. Sessions are slated to begin in June, fostering a generation committed to the planet's well-being.

Both programs will be held at the Highlands Community Center, located at 511 NE 44th St., Deerfield Beach, FL 33064. For more information or to reserve a spot, interested individuals can contact the center directly at (954) 250-4161. The Department of Parks and Recreation expressed excitement about launching these two new programs this June and encourages everyone to reach out for details. Representatives are available to discuss the offerings.
