Attention Hollywood residents and commuters: Beginning June 2, maintenance work will start around Arthur Street and North 11th Court. The City of Hollywood will be constructing a gravel access path to improve service to an existing drainage ditch. The project is expected to be completed by July 1, so plan for possible delays in the area, per the city's latest announcement.
Expect work crews on-site weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and while construction won't necessarily shut down streets entirely, there will be temporary lane closures and traffic controls in place to protect passersby and workers alike, but the city promises the inconveniences will be temporary. Southeastern Engineering Contractors, Inc. is contracted to get the work done.
The city advises steering clear of leaving vehicles or personal belongings within the work zone or public right-of-way. The warning is stark: items left in the danger zone run the risk of being damaged, removed, or lost at the owner’s expense, according to the city's notice.
