The Houston Police Department is currently seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a convenience store robbery that took place on a Friday afternoon in Houston, Texas. The incident, as reported, occurred on February 21, at approximately 12:00 pm in a store situated on the 3300 block of Antoine. A black male, estimated to be between 20 to 30 years old, initially appeared to be a normal customer, placing a case of beer on the counter before causing a commotion when he couldn't adequately pay for his items.
According to a statement obtained by the Houston Police Robbery Division's website, the confrontation escalated quickly after the suspect realized he did not have the funds. He proceeded to throw display items to the ground and threatened to violently harm the clerk. This distraction was used to then seize the entire cash drawer. The robber, described as wearing a dark hoodie and black pants, quickly fled the scene on foot.
