La Vergne residents, prepare for a splash this summer, as the city's parks and recreation department collaborates with La Vergne Fire Rescue to host a unique water day for kids and families. Titled "The Big Wave," the event promises refreshing fun with water cascading from fire hoses right in Veterans Memorial Park. It's a great way to beat the heat, come June 2, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
According to details posted on the City of La Vergne's official announcement, this family-friendly extravaganza welcomes kids of all ages. Attendees should come prepared to get soaked and are encouraged to don swimwear, water shoes, and pack plenty of sunscreens along with towels. It's all about fun in the sun, safely.
What’s more, this community event comes at no cost. However, parents and guardians are reminded that adult supervision is a must for the little ones enjoying the watery wonder. All this without having to spend a dime, with the exception, perhaps, of a possible popsicle or snack afterward to round off the day.
Should questions or concerns arise, the Parks Office is ready to assist. Anyone in need of more information before the event can reach out by dialing (615) 793-3224. So, mark the calendars, grab your gear, and prepare for an afternoon of complimentary waterworks courtesy of La Vergne Parks and Recreation and the Fire Rescue team.
