
A tragic incident occurred at a Caldwell County preschool yesterday, when a 16-month-old toddler went into cardiac arrest. First responders were called to Creative Beginnings of Lenoir around 2:45 p.m. after receiving a cardiac arrest report. Upon arrival, the child was found unresponsive and immediate life-saving measures were undertaken. Despite the first responders' efforts, the child later died after being transported to Caldwell UNC Healthcare, as per WBTV.
As the Lenoir community contends with this sorrowful event, the preschool involved—Creative Beginnings of Lenoir, has conveyed its heartache through a social media post: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our sweet little angels at Creative Beginnings of Lenoir, our hearts are broken, and we’re struggling to find the right words in the face of such sorrow," according to a statement obtained by QC News. The post continues, asking for prayers for the preschool staff, the family, and everyone touched by the tragedy.
The investigation into the child's untimely death is currently underway, with the Lenoir Police Department working closely with the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause. Authorities have stated that Creative Beginnings has been fully cooperative with the investigation. WCCB Charlotte further reports that police are examining all aspects of the incident.
