A man was ambushed and shot to death in Humboldt Park on the West Side this Friday morning in what marks another instance of Chicago's relentless gun violence epidemic. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the victim, a 45-year-old man whom authorities have not yet identified, was first approached by a gunman around 6:50 a.m. while walking in the 3800 block of West Augusta Boulevard.
Following the initial assault, a second shooter, who had arrived in a separate vehicle, got out to also shoot the man. Found with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, WGN-TV reported. Both gunmen then fled the area in the vehicle, heading south on Hamlin Avenue, as officials say.
