An early morning argument turned lethal in Humboldt Park this past weekend, with a 35-year-old man losing his life following a roadside dispute. According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, the confrontation between the victim and another driver escalated rapidly when words gave way to gunfire.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be released, found himself embroiled in a heated exchange while seated inside his car around 2:45 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Spaulding Avenue, the argument escalated when he stepped out of his vehicle and the other driver, remaining within the confinement of his car, pulled out a gun and shot the man multiple times, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. Despite the prompt efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead after being transported to Stroger Hospital.
The Chicago Tribune detailed the tragic sequence of events that unfolded, but as of yet, police have no one in custody and the Area Five Detectives are handling the ongoing investigation.
