Tragedy struck Clarksville’s Summit Heights neighborhood late last night when a man was fatally shot. The Clarksville Police Department responded to the incident just before 11 p.m., where they discovered the man outside of one of the residences suffering from a gunshot wound, as reported by ClarksvilleNow. Efforts to save the man's life were unsuccessful, and he was declared dead at an area hospital.
The Clarksville Police Department has withheld the victim's name pending notification of next-of-kin. In an ongoing effort to piece together the events that led to the shooting, the department's Special Operations Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit are spearheading the investigation.
