An early morning dispute in Chicago's River North area resulted in gunfire and a 25-year-old man being sent to the hospital with injuries, reported NBC Chicago. The incident took place shortly after 4 a.m. in the 100 block of West Ontario Street. A verbal altercation between two individuals turned violent when one party drew a weapon and fired.
Authorities said the victim was struck in the buttocks and was later transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Despite being shot, he was listed in good condition. As of yet, the shooter remains at large. The detectives from Area Three are conducting the investigation, trying to piece together the altercation that ballooned into gunfire, according to a statement obtained by FOX 32 Chicago.
No further information about the suspect has been released, and the police have not taken anyone into custody relating to this incident.
