Early Thursday morning, an altercation in Chicago's Loop neighborhood escalated to violence, resulting in a 37-year-old man being attacked with a sharp object. The Chicago Tribune reports that the incident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. on the 100 block of West Lake Street. During the dispute, the suspect produced a sharp object and inflicted lacerations to the victim's face, neck, and wrist.
Following the attack, the victim was promptly transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is currently listed in fair condition. In a similar turn of events, the assailant also received medical attention at the same hospital due to an arm injury. As per the details provided by NBC Chicago, police took the suspect into custody shortly after the altercation, with charges pending.
