A serious shooting in Chicago's Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood has left a 37-year-old man in serious condition, CBS Chicago reports. The incident, which resulted from an altercation late Sunday night, ended with the man's vehicle crashing into a building.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the victim was involved in a verbal dispute with an unknown man on the sidewalk, as per CBS Chicago. After departing in his silver SUV, the victim was shot by the other individual as he drove past him. He sustained two gunshot wounds to the leg and one to the arm. Despite these injuries, the man was able to bring his vehicle to a stop before it hit a building, officials said.

FOX 32 Chicago adds that following the shooting, which occurred around 10:20 p.m. on the 500 block of East 75th Street, the injured man received treatment from fire crews on the scene. He was subsequently transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Detectives from Area 2 are leading the investigation, CBS Chicago notes.
