In a quintessential small-town crime story, Morrison County storage businesses faced a rash of burglaries early this month. On May 9th, Morrison County Sheriff's Office was alerted to break-ins at two storage facilities – Bob's Storage on Quest Road and Denny's Storage on 370th Avenue in Richardson Township, just a short drive from Harding, MN.
The Sheriff's office has confirmed that approximately 15 storage units were compromised between the two locations. According to a statement by the Sheriff's office, they believe at least three culprits executed the heist. Surveillance, which recorded activities from around midnight to 1:30 am, revealed one suspect deftly cutting through lock mechanisms while the other two slipped into the units to pilfer goods.
Community members disturbed by these incidents are likely concerned about the safety of their stored possessions, and rightfully so. The disruption of personal space and property is more than a mere nuisance; it's a strike on the trust we place in such repositories for our belongings. Sheriff's deputies are currently wading through the evidence in hopes of snagging the perpetrators.
Investigators have not yet released any images or detailed descriptions of the suspects. However, they are urging anyone with information or who noticed anything unusual in the vicinity of the burglaries to contact the Morrison County Sheriff's Office at 320-632-9233. It seems this small county is grappling with the reminder that no corner of the world is entirely immune to the reach of petty crime.
