A Naperville man has been arrested and charged in connection with a March shooting that left a 53-year-old male injured, authorities say. Saifullah Diab, 35, of the 6000 block of Steeple Run Dr. in Naperville, Illinois, now faces a slew of charges following the incident that took place on the 1900 block of W. Roscoe St. in the city's 19th District.
The Chicago Police Department reports that Diab was arrested by their officers and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force on May 2, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m. He has been officially charged with one felony count of aggravated battery/discharge firearm, one felony count of home invasion/great bodily harm, and there are two active issuance of warrants against his.
During the detention hearing held on May 3, 2025, at 2600 S. California, the details of the case were reviewed. It was then shared by law enforcement that Diab had been identified as the alleged offender responsible for the home invasion and subsequent shooting on March 8, 2025. The victim, a 53-year-old male, sustained gunshot injuries in what has now escalated to a criminal prosecution for aggravated battery, among other offenses.
While Diab is currently in custody, no further information has been disclosed concerning the circumstances of the shooting or the condition of the victim.
