The Portland Police Bureau is seeking assistance from the community in the case of a missing endangered woman, Joan Ivan, who was reported missing earlier today. Having been last seen near her residence in the area of Northeast Stanton Street and North Williams Avenue, Joan, 81, is of concern due to her condition of dementia, according to the City of Portland. Between the times of 3:00 p.m. on May 16 and 9:00 a.m. on May 19, she was discovered absent from her home.
A public notice released by the police provides a description of Joan: a Caucasian female, standing 5’5” tall, and weighing 110 lbs, and while her current outfit is unknown, she was last observed wearing glasses, a long-sleeved shirt, a Columbia rain jacket, and black and white leggings. Joan frequents Dawson Park and the New Seasons nearby, as known by the detectives working on her case.
The authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and to contact 911 immediately if they spot Joan. For those who might have information that could assist in locating her but is not time-sensitive, they are encouraged to email the detectives at [email protected] and to mention the case number, 25-130789, in their communication, the City of Portland stated.
