
A violent incident in San Francisco shattered yesterday afternoon's calm. According to a social media post from the San Francisco Police, at around 4:35 PM near Bayshore Blvd. and Cortland Ave., officers were called to the scene of a stabbing. An adult male, found suffering from a stab wound, was quickly attended to by the Bayview Station officers and medical personnel. Still, sadly, despite their efforts to rapidly save his life, he was declared dead after being transported to a local hospital.

The SFPD wasted little time in tracking down a suspect. Matching the suspect's description, a 51-year-old male named Daniel Garcia was detained close to where the stabbing took place. Garcia has since been charged with homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, and elder abuse. The SFPD is currently asking the community to come together to help further the investigation. Following the arrest, Garcia was transported to the San Francisco County Jail. According to authorities, his charges include homicide under section 187(a) PC, assault with a deadly weapon as per section 245(a)(1) PC, and elder abuse in line with section 368(b)(1) PC. The SFPD's Homicide Detail is actively working to piece together the events that unfolded leading to the fatal encounter.
