The City of San Luis has officially been recognized for its commitment to keeping its workplace free from trips, slips, and hospital trips. The accolade comes in the form of the Small City Public Entity Protection Program (PEPP) Recognition Award, courtesy of the Industrial Commission of Arizona, according to an announcement on the city's website.
San Luis had to actively work to lower injury and illness rates, pushing them below industry averages. It's a big win for a small city, demonstrating the power of an effective safety management system that had to significantly improve over nearly a decade. Maria Sabori, the Risk Manager, filled with pride (and probably a whole lot of safety pamphlets), stated, "We are honored to receive the Industrial Commission of Arizona’s Small City PEPP Recognition Award, a reflection of our dedication to safety and health."
Sabori added her gratitude, saying, "We are deeply grateful to everyone who has prioritized safety and contributed to fostering a culture of teamwork and support."
