A 17-year-old has been arrested after purportedly issuing a shooting threat against the Madison Street Carnival in Shelbyville, Tennessee. WSMV reports that the Shelbyville Police Department acted on a tip from the public about a Snapchat post. The same teen is said to have been involved in a previous incident at the carnival last June which resulted in a man being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Shelbyville Police expressed their gratitude to the concerned individuals who came forward with information about the Snapchat post, as noted in a report by Thunder Radio. Their Criminal Investigation Division and Digital Forensic Unit spearheaded the investigation leading to the recent arrest.
During the shooting last year another suspect, Cameron Fite, was charged with aggravated assault. As detailed by News Channel 5, Fite's court case about the previous carnival shooting is still in progress.
