A serious car crash early Tuesday morning in Lake Forest, Illinois, has left three people injured after their vehicle rolled over on Route 41. According to NBC Chicago, the incident occurred northbound between Gage Lane and Deerpath Road around 2 a.m., causing significant disruptions during the morning rush hour.
Route 41 is closed at Route 60 to all Northbound traffic for a serious traffic investigation. Use Waukegan Road or I94 as alternatives.

As a result of the crash, one person was ejected from the vehicle, confirmed by the Lake Forest fire officials, as per NBC Chicago. The injured parties were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals, but the extent of their injuries remains undisclosed. The officials also reported there was at least one entrapment amongst the havoc wreaked by the early morning crash.
Route 41 bore the brunt of the disturbance. Police closed northbound traffic from Route 60 to Route 176 in the aftermath. It was recommended by authorities for drivers to take alternative routes such as Waukegan Road or Interstate 94 while the investigation was ongoing and the stretch of road was completely sealed off until 5:30 a.m., as NBC Chicago reported.
CBS Chicago noted that police are investigating the crash and believe alcohol and excessive speed were contributing factors.
