
Early this morning, two individuals experienced a harrowing escape after their car veered off State Road 715 and plunged into a canal in Belle Glade, a situation that necessitated aeromedical transport to a trauma center. According to CBS12, the incident occurred near 5500 SR 715, prompting Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to rush to the scene after receiving 911 calls around 7:55 a.m.
Upon arriving at the crash site, emergency crews found a singular passenger vehicle teetering at the canal's edge, its wheels partially swallowed by the ditch's clutches. After having managed to exit the submerged vehicle, the two occupants were declared trauma alerts, as reported by WFLX. As a consequence, a medical helicopter was dispatched to ferry them, ensuring they received swift and specialized care.
The circumstances leading up to the vehicle’s descent into the canal remain unclear, and the current conditions of the individuals have yet to be disclosed. "Upon arrival, emergency responders found a single passenger vehicle in a ditch at the canal's edge, upright with water reaching the wheels," according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue's recount of the event. The response team's rapid intervention was essential in stabilizing the victims before their airlift. After managing to extricate themselves from the vehicle, the two victims were promptly attended to by the medical staff, as detailed by CBS12.
