Evan Phelps, a recent graduate of the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, has earned the title of 2025 Mr. Bearcat, as announced by the University of Cincinnati's honorary fraternity Sigma Sigma. Phelps, who holds degrees in business economics and finance, was recognized for his achievements on April 11 during Sigma Sigma’s annual celebration. According to the University of Cincinnati, this esteemed accolade has been awarded since 1949 to senior men exemplifying academic excellence, leadership, service to UC, and the Bearcat spirit.
Director of Lindner Business Honors, Ruth Seiple, remarked on Phelps's impact at the college. Having drawn from a statement obtained by the University of Cincinnati, Seiple expressed, "Evan is the kind of student that every professor hopes to have, one who is eager to participate and challenges both himself and his peers with thought-provoking questions." The honor is a testament to Phelps's dedication to scholarship and community, with a nod to the way he enhanced the learning experience for those around him, long before graduating on May 2.
