Two Utes standouts, Hailee White and Jolie Mayfield, have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, a nod to their prowess both on the softball diamond and in the classroom. The College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday, singling out the pair from a competitive field.
Hailee White, a team captain for Utah in 2025, took the field for all 51 games this season, playing a pivotal role in leading the nation with 36 double plays alongside her impressive 110 assists that rank seventh in the Big 12. She managed to virtually flawlessly handle her fielding duties, committing only one error in more than 90 opportunities within conference play this year. And yet, she didn't even slightly begin to neglect her studies, maintaining a solid 3.83 GPA while pursuing a psychology degree, as reported by UtahUtes.com.
Joining White on the all-district team, Jolie Mayfield has been a consistent hit for the Utes. This season, Mayfield ended fourth on the team in batting average and played a key role in securing second in triples and third in walks. She racked up seven multi-hit games, with a standout performance against Arizona on March 15, where she slammed two home runs, including a grand slam. Mayfield combines her athletic success with academic ambition, boasting a 3.85 GPA in her health and kinesiology studies.
